In September 2013 I was commissioned by the Arts & Culture team at Auckland Council and the Rodney Local Board to produce this body of works for the town I grew up in, Warkworth. The project was funded by ARST and the brief was 'to integrate art into every day life'. I did this with a series of 14 corten steel birds hidden along the Mahurangi River side. The birds give the viewer the opportunity to reflect on their environment by physically engaging with their surroundings. The unveiling ceremony was held on the 14 May 2014 and was beautiful dawn blessing with Ngati Manuhiri and Ngati Whatua, followed by a community walk though.
